Ultrafiltration (UF) System

Advanced Membrane Filtration for High-Quality Water Treatment

Detailed Specifications

The Ultrafiltration (UF) System is a pressure-driven membrane filtration technology used for the removal of suspended solids, colloids, turbidity, bacteria and high-molecular-weight organic matter from water and treated wastewater.

UF membranes typically have very small pores and provide a physical barrier for particulate and microbiological contaminants. The process produces a consistent-quality UF permeate, which can be reused directly for suitable applications or further treated

Feed water is passed through the UF membranes under pressure. Water and dissolved low-molecular-weight substances pass through the membrane as permeate, while suspended and colloidal contaminants are retained and discharged through the concentrate/reject stream.

The system is normally operated with periodic backwashing and/or chemically enhanced cleaning (CEB/CIP) to control membrane fouling and maintain stable performance.

Excellent Pretreatment for RO
UF can significantly reduce suspended solids, colloids and turbidity entering an RO system, helping provide stable RO feed quality.

Consistent Filtration Quality
Unlike conventional media filtration, membrane separation provides a defined physical separation barrier.

Compact Footprint
UF systems can provide high filtration capacity within a relatively compact installation area.

Automation & Operational Flexibility
Automatic filtration, backwash, CEB and CIP sequences can be incorporated into the system design.

Water Reuse
UF permeate can be suitable for various reuse applications depending on feed-water characteristics and required water quality.

Reverse Osmosis (RO) System

Advanced Membrane Technology for Water Purification & Reuse

The Reverse Osmosis (RO) System is a pressure-driven membrane separation technology used to remove dissolved salts, ions, minerals, and other dissolved contaminants from water and treated wastewater.

In an RO system, feed water is pressurized and passed across semi-permeable membranes. Water molecules pass through the membrane as permeate, while most dissolved salts and contaminants are retained in the concentrate/reject stream. RO systems are widely used for producing high-quality water for industrial processes, utilities, boiler feed, process applications and wastewater reuse.

Pre-treatment is provided according to the feed-water characteristics to control scaling, fouling, suspended solids and membrane damage. The pre-treated water is then pressurized and fed to the RO membrane elements.

Effective Desalination
RO provides high removal of dissolved salts, allowing production of low-TDS water suitable for various industrial applications.

Water Recovery & Reuse
RO can recover a significant portion of treated wastewater for reuse, reducing fresh-water consumption.

Flexible Design
RO systems can be configured for different feed-water qualities, capacities, recovery requirements and product-water specifications.

Compact System
RO provides high-capacity water purification within a relatively compact footprint.

Suitable for ZLD Integration
RO concentrate can be further treated through suitable concentration and evaporation technologies as part of a Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) scheme.
