High-rate physico-chemical separation systems combining integrated pipe flocculators and micro-bubble generation to efficiently float and skim suspended solids, oils, and grease.
Efficient Physico-Chemical Separation for Industrial Wastewater
Pipe Flocculator with DAF Systems are integrated physico-chemical treatment systems designed for the removal of suspended solids, colloidal particles, oil & grease and other floatable contaminants from industrial wastewater.
The system combines chemical conditioning and flocculation in a pipe flocculator with Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) in a compact treatment arrangement. Coagulants and flocculants are dosed according to the wastewater characteristics to destabilize and agglomerate fine particles into larger flocs. These flocs are subsequently separated in the DAF unit using fine air bubbles.
A portion of the clarified DAF effluent is typically pressurized and combined with air. When this dissolved-air stream is released into the DAF flotation chamber, microscopic air bubbles are generated. These bubbles attach to suspended and flocculated particles, reducing their apparent density and causing them to float to the surface.
The floating sludge is continuously or intermittently removed using a surface skimming mechanism, while clarified water is collected from the lower/treated-water zone of the flotation unit.
Key Features
Typical Applications where Pipe Flocculator with DAF systems are suitable for:
Benefits
Compact Footprint
Combines flocculation and flotation in an efficient treatment arrangement.
Effective Solid Separation
Suitable for wastewater containing suspended, colloidal and floatable contaminants.
Oil & Grease Removal
DAF can provide effective separation of free and emulsified oil and grease when appropriate chemical conditioning is applied.
Improved Downstream Treatment
Removal of solids and other contaminants can reduce the loading on subsequent biological or membrane treatment processes.
Application-Specific Design
Chemical dosing, flocculation conditions, recycle ratio, hydraulic loading and flotation parameters are selected based on the wastewater characteristics and required treated-water quality.
