Pressure Sand Filter (PSF) & Activated Carbon Filter (ACF)
K&C Envirotech Services provides Tertiary Treatment Plants using Pressure Sand Filter (PSF) and Activated Carbon Filter (ACF) for polishing of treated wastewater. These systems are designed to reduce residual suspended solids, turbidity, colour, odour and certain organic impurities, improving the quality of treated water for reuse or further advanced treatment.
PSF and ACF systems can be installed as a standalone tertiary treatment system or integrated with advanced processes such as UF and RO, depending on the required treated-water quality.
The actual configuration is selected based on the inlet water quality, flow rate and required outlet parameters.
Pressure Sand Filter (PSF)
The PSF is primarily used for the removal of suspended solids, turbidity and fine particulate matter from treated wastewater. Water passes through a graded bed of filtration media, where suspended particles are retained within the filter bed. Periodic backwashing is provided to restore filter performance.

Activated Carbon Filter (ACF)
The ACF uses activated carbon media to adsorb organic compounds and other substances responsible for colour and odour. It is commonly installed downstream of the PSF to provide additional polishing of treated water.
