Water & Waste Water Treatment Solutions

High-Rate Solid Contact Clarifier (HRSCC)

High-rate physico-chemical separation systems combining integrated pipe flocculators and micro-bubble generation to efficiently float and skim suspended solids, oils, and grease.

High-Rate Solid Contact Clarifier (HRSCC)

High Rate Solid Contact Clarifier for Efficient Solid-Liquid Separation

High-Rate Solid Contact Clarifier (HRSCC) Systems for efficient removal of suspended solids, colloidal matter and precipitated contaminants, total hardness, from industrial wastewater and raw water. HRSCC combines rapid mixing, chemical coagulation, flocculation and clarification in an integrated high-rate treatment system. The recirculation and contact of formed sludge with incoming water promote improved floc formation and efficient solid-liquid separation within a compact footprint.

Benefits

  • Efficient solid-liquid separation
  • Improved floc formation
  • Integrated clarification process
  • Suitable for high suspended-solids applications
  • Easy integration with existing ETP/WTP systems
  • Suitable for plant expansion and upgradation
  • Supports downstream membrane and filtration processes

How HRSCC Works?

Feed water enters the HRSCC unit and is conditioned with suitable coagulants, flocculants and other chemicals as required. The incoming raw water comes into contact with chemical dosing and formed flocs, promoting particle agglomeration and improving the settling characteristics of the solids. The formed flocs are separated from the water in the clarification zone. Clarified water is collected from the upper section, while settled sludge is periodically withdrawn to maintain the required solids concentration within the system.

Major Treatment Stages

  1. Chemical Coagulation

Coagulants are added to destabilize suspended and colloidal particles.

  1. Flocculation & Solid Contact

Controlled mixing and contact with recycled solids promote formation of larger and denser flocs.

  1. High-Rate Clarification

The formed solids settle within the clarification zone, while clarified water is collected from the top.

  1. Sludge Withdrawal

A portion of settled sludge removed for further dewatering.
